I did a thing. I went to the beach and I wore a 2-piece.
It's no secret to those who know me IRL (or in real life for those of us who are over 30) that I have been packing on the pounds recently.
Let's face it, winter happened and before I knew it I looked like a chipmunk hiding nuts in his cheeks for the winter. I won't say exactly how much weight I have acquired... but I will say that if I keep going the number of pounds I've gained will surpass the age I trick people into believing I am...
When my boyfriend invited me to Miami for a week I KNEW I had to get this under control. So I stood there, looking at my extra weight in the mirror and said 'It's not you, it's me; we can't continue on this way.' Then I did what a lot of girls do before a Spring Break beach vacation - I went on pinterest and tried to find a way to lose 30 lbs in 2 hours. As you can imagine I didn't really find anything too promising.
With my vacation fast approaching I knew that I needed a swim suit that I would actually wear and feel confident in, even if I didn't make getting into shape a priority.
At this point though I had just 5 days until I left and no local options for a proper swimsuit. My chest is a little on the larger side and swimsuit shopping has ALWAYS been a pain for me. Tops labeled Small/Medium/Large/XLarge just don't fit a 32DDD properly. They never provide enough support or coverage and unless I wanted to have a Janet Jackson Super Bowl moment on the beach, I'd need to find something better.
I found many options that had full coverage options and bra sizing but they were either more than I wanted to pay for something that MAY NOT fit or were not very stylish.
Then I came across the Shade & Shore Bra Size Swimwear collection at Target.
The collection offered a variety of styles and sizes. I ended up ordering the Shade & Shore Light Lift Wrap Bikini Top and the Shade & Shore Sun Coast Cheeky High Waist Bikini Bottom
I ordered a size 32DDD for the top and a medium bottom (for reference I am typically a 4-6 in pants and a size small - medium in tops and 32DDD or 34DD in bras).
The top fit perfectly. I was happy that the straps were adjustable and I would be able to give the girls a little extra lift (since I have a kid and all, you know). The bottoms fit nicely as well. With high waisted bottoms I always have that fear that it will look like I am wearing a diaper, and let's face it, that's not really sexy... (unless you're into that kind of thing, if so it's not my place to judge, but this isn't the blog for you). These didn't ride up when I tried to run (I said tried... I didn't actually run) on the beach or jump up and down in the waves. Overall I am very pleased with this set and am planning on purchasing another style soon! Probably the one below, because let's face it, the print is to die for.
I will say that I saw another person wearing this same swim suit and she had a gorgeous body! She looked like she loved Kale and running, much more than myself and the swimsuit look amazing on her body type as well!
(Note: This is not a paid review, this is my honest opinion of a product that I love!)
